Topic: Growth!

Date: Oct. 2nd. 2024

Merry meet and mossy greets!

How did a bi-weekly blog post go two months without an update!?

Lemme tell ya…. After that deep clean, re-organization, and prep work… I randomly applied for a show at an herb shop in Ypsilanti, and got in! I only applied because my Sis-n-Law told me I was more than ready, and I should just go for it! She was right, and I’m so glad her voice resonated with my heart strings.

That first show was GREAT! My in laws came and showed support, the one soul that really encouraged me to find my path surprised showed up, the customers had WONDERFUL feedback and gave me some great leads! (Shout out Elaina!) It definitely got my toes wet and a bit more prepared for the following show!

After that, I buffed the inventory up, tore apart all my displays and re-built them in less than a month for the Autumn Equinox show in Ferndale. That, was my first outdoor show and sure enough… it was gray, humid, misty and moody… The vibe was set. The coordinator blessed me with (I’m not kidding) THE BEST spot, and I thanked her as much as I could for that. The vendor next to me also didn’t show up, so that was nice to have some breathing room!

That show was a phenomenal success in my opinion, and ALL of the customers were so incredible sweet. Right off the bat the first customer to stroll through saw my future vision of my next projects without me saying anything, and it confirmed for me that taxidermy oddity display boxes are coming! After that, old familiar souls that I haven’t seen in over a decade came to show love, support, and even bought some things! I’m truly tearing up thinking about the people that have been able to see my growth, AND the new souls that have just come into my life over the past year.

I’m really humbled that so many people took time out of their day on a rainy Saturday to come give me a hug, and encourage me to keep going. You guys, I truly cannot thank enough for keeping the wind beneath the wings and the fire under my ass! Now, I have another show in downtown Utica on October 19th 2024 from 12-5pm, so I hope I can meet some new faces there!

Blessed Be & Sincerely,

Courtney
