Entry #2

Topic: Work Space #1

Date: May 8th, 2024

Merry meet and mossy greets!

This weeks blog is completely spontaneous as I didn’t have a set idea in mind, but was leaning towards a peek at the mother’s day custom gifts I’ve done this year. Although, after this organizational endeavor I went on, I figured a snippet of a snap into my studio would be appreciated! I currently work out of our home, and to get to where I am today I’ve had to do a massive purge of art supplies and unfinished projects. I’ve had to take into consideration realistically what I have the time and budget for. On top of that, trending crafts over saturate the market and take the fun out of it.

For example, resin has been a super trendy craft recently and after much consideration, I tried it out thinking I was going to LOVE it. I didn’t. I hated it. It’s very demanding in a lot of aspects, health risks are involved, and I have four cats… I CAN NOT risk having an accident of any sort. So, after ten years of always coming back to polymer clay, I made the decision to apply the decades worth of learned techniques and focus on developing a style.

My creative brain has always been intrigued by polymer clay and the infinite ways it reinvents itself to always remain an incredibly timeless craft. Now, I’ve totally transformed my small space around polymer clay and starting a small business. There are challenges that are always needing inventive ways to overcome, such as the cats, a husband in a small space while being in a hurry, and being able to access all things necessary. My space is constantly morphing, so this current set up certainly will not last. But, it does work for now based on the current limitations.

My personal manifestation goal is to have Moss’d & Found grow into such a healthy business that the current work space will need to grow into something larger to meet all operational needs! Until then, we keep planting seeds of growth and nurturing what sprouts up!

Blessed Be & Sincerely,

Courtney
